Refractor Mortar

Fireplace bricks and plates tend to deteriorate over time. Spaces between bricks and brick cracks can develop which can result in heat and creosote getting in behind these fireplace components. By sealing these spaces and cracks with high temperature refractor mortar, not only can a potential chimney fire be averted, but it can extend the life of the wood burning system.

Log Lighter

Gas fed fireplaces often have log lighters that are used for starting a fire. These log lighters will deteriorate over time, depending on use. It is important to replace these log lighters when they start to become warped or chipped to ensure fireplace safety.

Animal Removal

When a chimney flue does not have a rain cap with spark arrester installed, the result can be to have animals in your flue. This can be very dangerous given that the animals can carry diseases and bring these diseases into your house. Able Chimney Sweeps will remove animals from your wood burning system and recommend a rain cap with protective screen to ensure animals do not enter your house again.

We charge standard fees for sweeps and/or inspections. If any additional services are requested, Able technicians will discuss the fee for services prior to commencement of the additional services to ensure that customers are in agreement with the services to be completed as well as the fee for service.

Please note that ash removal is not included in our standard fees for service.
